1972 Mercedes Benz 250 Coupe. Beige Grey Metallic (728) with black MB tex upholstery. Mercedes introduced a coup variant of the W114 in 1969, featuring a longer boot lid and available with either a 2.5 or 2.8 litre six-cylinder engine. While a classic and understated design these generally cost less than the W113-based 280 SL model that ran until 1971, and its successor, the 3.5 or 4.5 litre V8 Mercedes SL R107/C107 (19711989) roadster and coup. While a hard-top unlike the fully convertible SL, the pillarless design allowed all the windows to be lowered completely for open air motoring. This stunning pillarless coupe arrived in the U.K during 2021 after spending its life in the sunshine of California. It presents very well and exudes style and elegance. A very well specced car with power steering, electric windows and an electric sunroof, all options that were very rare in 1972. The odometer reads 47,000 miles which the previous keeper believes to be correct but we are unable to guarantee this due to the age. The paintwork has a lovely lustre and the interior upholstery shows minimal wear. Mechanically the car drives as it should with excellent oil pressure and a strong engine and is just waiting to be enjoyed in new hands. The original dealer wallet containing the owners handbooks accompanies the car along with some bills and invoices. Totally rust free and very solid and although now tax and mot exempt a fresh mot will be applied upon sale. Ideal for use in London as also ULEZ exempt.
