We recently purchased this fantastic looking VW Golf GT from the VW main dealer in Ipswich where it was taken in part exchange and road tested over 90 miles back to our base in Weldon. The car started first time from cold, the 148 BHP engine sounded healthy and it powered through all 6 gears with no troubles at all. Both the gearbox and clutch operated nicely with no clunks or crunches. The Golf handled and cornered very well on the variety of roads we tested it on with no unwanted knocking noises from the suspension over bumps. The black/grey cloth interior is in great condition showing minimal signs of wear, the cabin is free from bad odours and all electrics worked as they should when tested including the parking sensors, dab radio, sat nav and air con which blew cold. The VW would make an ideal family car as it's spacious inside and it's also cheap to run, costing just £20 per year in road tax, it's in the group 17 insurance bracket and it returns impressive mpg of over 67 miles combined. Full service history is supplied with eight stamps in the book which were done at intervals of 9873, 19397, 66166, 82146, 92359, 95400, 1*** and 113892 miles. The cambelt, waterpump, aux belt and rollers were replaced in 2021 at 95417 miles. We have Mot'd the vehicle, replaced the rear discs/pads and put it through our 47 point safety check which came back from the garage with a clean bill of health.
