Used 1996 Ford ESCORT 1.4LX MkVI

This Mark IV Escort spent a number of years off the road in the mid-2010s but has been recently recommissioned. The result? A lovely drivable modern classic with just 53,000 miles on the clock. Mechanically, the car is light and responsive having recently benefitted from a full service including fluids and filters, brake service, spark plugs, new battery, new vacuum hoses and a new exhaust. Having previously sat for a while, some welding has been necessary around the rear suspension but these repairs have only served to tighten the ride. Inside is completely original and in very nice condition. The grey velour seats with coloured inserts are firm, clean and free of any rips or tears. The same applies to all the cabin trim with everything in working order including the sun-roof which seals as it should with no leaks. The bodwork is generally good but there are some age-related scratches and there has been some poor DIY repairs to a small dent on the left rear door as well as some small patches of corrosion at the rear wheel arches...these could simply be left or addressed for a modest outlay by the new owner. This car will be sold with a new MOT.
