A rare opportunity to acquire one of the scarcer retro Fords. An excellent surviving example of the Orion 1.6 injection in smart Stratos silver, in the iconic Ghia trim with the renowned CVH engine and 5 speed gearbox. Just 40k genuine miles on the clock with all original documentation and a huge history file including every previous MOT certificate to bolster the provenance and warrant the mileage. There are many invoices for general maintenance and service work carried out over the years, and it even has the original bill of sale! It has 4 owners total on the logbook. Totally authentic and unrestored, this car shows no signs of rust, accident damage or welding, with an extremely straight body complimented by all the trims and glass also being in great condition. In my opinion it has had a respray at some point in its past but to a great standard and clearly just to keep it looking fresh. The alloy wheels are neat and well shod with quality Toyo Proxes tyres. The engine bay is original, genuine and well maintained, with solid battery tray etc, and everything in its place and working at it should, and it could be described as wearing its working clothes, leaving scope to clean and detail under there should the next custodian wish to take the car to the next level. The interior is fresh, clean and complete with just very minor age related wear, and come with an original working Ford radio, and some fun period additions such as the alarm sensors, window etching and high level brake light. The roof lining is in great condition and it even has the original waffle rubber floor mats albeit with some wear to the drivers mat, so they have been removed to preserve but included with the sale. It starts, runs and drives very well for its age, with no smoking or rattling from the engine and a quiet gearbox with a good clutch. Power delivery is consistent and the brakes pull up well, with memories of days gone by flooding back as you make brisk progress across country or cruise around town! To sum up this is a very charming and genuine example of a very cool yet very practical classic Ford, and I am sure the new owner will be very pleased. Further information as regards to the background and condition of the vehicle is available to prospective purchasers upon request, and we strongly encourage a prompt telephone enquiry to register your interest.
